We moved into our home a little over two months ago.
Best decision ever?
Jeff’s currently brewing his own beer in our “wine cellar” (aka the closet under the stairs) and I am quickly making the small room off the living room into my little retreat. I still have so far to go in the decorating game, but that’s okay. A little bit here and there as the inspiration strikes me.
I look back at when we put the offer in and the sinking feeling in my stomach every time some thing went wrong, and it was totally worth it. I keep thinking someone is going to come home from an extended vacation and say, “GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!” But it’s ours…our little piece of suburban heaven.
I’ve been going to the gym on a regular basis (3 times a week or more if I can make it) and I finally came to terms with my anxiety so I’m being treated for that. I set a new goal for myself today: 5k in November! I’ve always HATED, no, DESPISED running! But this will be a fun journey.
If you told me a year ago that all of this would be happening, I would have laughed.
Last Sunday in the apartment. Next Sunday we’ll be in our new home.
Today’s list includes packing, usual cleaning routine, and more packing.
Utilities at the house were set up last week, inspection went VERY well, and now all we’re waiting on is our paperwork to come back to the lawyer’s office.
FINALLY! Just in time for our lease to end, we received our approval letters on the house. We close in three (!) weeks. This time next month, I won’t be screaming about how I have no room in the kitchen or about our noisy neighbors. We’ll have plenty of room for visitors as well!
We have some administrative things to take care of since the previous owners failed to pay their HOA fees, but in the grand scheme of things it’s no big deal. I just hope nothing comes up in the appraisal and inspection over the next few weeks.
I knew I shouldn’t have gotten excited. We should be closing on the house next week. But we’re not. The investors at B of A are taking their SWEET time with our approval letter, which is what we need to move forward.
I’m BEYOND frustrated. Our lease ends May 11. Pray/hope we hear something this week.
